Transcriptomics

With our transcriptomics service, you can discover and profile the complete set of RNA transcripts that are produced by the genome under specific circumstances or in a specific cell—using high-throughput methods.

OhmX.bio specializes in full-length transcripts and the exploration of epigenetic RNA modifications on the Oxford Nanopore. We also offer a variety of Illumina based RNA-seq analysis. In close collaboration with our customers we will choose either for the Oxford Nanopore Technology or Illumina based protocols.

Transcriptomics based on Illumina technology
Directional RNA sequencing

This routinely applied service is offered for total RNA, mRNA or  small RNA based on customers’ needs.

Quantitative gene expression

We use the QuantSeq 3’ mRNA-seq kit from Lexogen for genome-wide quantitative analysis of gene expression.

Transcriptomics based on Oxford Nanopore Technology
Direct RNA/cDNA sequencing

We offer this service making use of the Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology, preventing bias and enabeling an ultra-fast sample to data flow.

Applications
Applications

  • Each technology has specific advantages but allows to identify the structure of transcribed genes, explore splice junctions, characterize small RNA, identify novel transcripts and transcriptional start sites or to quantify transcription in cancer or clinical or biomedical research.
  • Comparison of transcriptomes allows the identification of genes that are differentially expressed in distinct cell populations, or in response to different treatments.
  • A role for DNA modification in gene regulation is well established, but much less is known about how RNA modification affects RNA fate and influences the way genes are expressed. This exciting new research area is termed epitranscriptomics.
