Applications

Clinical diagnostics

In vitro diagnostics are tests done on samples such as blood or tissue that have been taken from the human body. Clinical diagnostics can detect diseases or other medical conditions. Diagnostic results from such tests can be used to monitor a person’s overall health to help cure, treat, or prevent diseases.

Advantages:

  • Direct single molecule DNA sequencing without PCR bias
  • Quantitative read-out
  • Long reads allow full ROI investigation (with SV, SNV and modifications)
  • CRISPR/Cas-mediated enrichment is possible
  • Ideal for genotyping polymorphic regions

Applications:

  • IVD for specific ROI
  • Devise tests for laboratory or other health professional settings and tests for consumers to use at home
