Proteomics

Proteomics

Proteomics refers to the study of proteomes, but is also used to describe the techniques used to determine the entire set of proteins of an organism or system, such as protein purification and mass spectrometry.

OhmX.bio offers processing and analysis of a broad range of biological and clinical sample types.

Besides protein and peptide identification (including post-translational modifications) by using the latest state-of-the art instruments, also quantitative proteomic workflows by labelled and un-labelled approaches are available. Protein separation or depletion can also optionally be desired to fractionate or deplete the complex mixture of proteins (this can be based on several features such as molecular weight, ligand binding, charge, hydrophobicity, or abundance. Next to differential proteomics and interactome investigation, also verification of proteins and peptides is possible by targeted measurements via single or parallel residue monitoring (SRM and PRM).

Applications
Applications

A plethora of applications based on the proteomics techniques is at hand to help our customers in their Life Science research.

  • Measuring the alteration of expression patterns in response to different signals and interpretation of functional protein pathways in different diseases for biomarker detection in diagnostics or for therapeutic solutions
  • Targeted protein quantification
  • Analysis of protein-protein interactions based on immunoprecipitation followed by MS identification
  • Post-translational modification determination (e.g.phosphorylation, acetylation or methylation)
  • Protein-level validation of alternative coding events (in combination with the ribosome profiling technique)
